Microsoft Is Making Windows 11 More Personal with New Themes
Microsoft has introduced a dedicated Themes section in the Microsoft Store, making it easier than ever to personalize your Windows PC. With just a few clicks, you can download new wallpapers and accent colors to match your style.
What Is the New Themes Section?
The Microsoft Store now has a Themes category, separate from Apps and Games. This section is designed only for Windows personalization and offers curated theme packs that help you customize your desktop quickly.
Each theme mainly includes:
High-quality wallpapers
Matching accent colors
How to Apply Themes in Windows 11
After downloading a theme, go to:
Settings > Personalization > Themes
Here you can view all installed themes, including default and downloaded ones, and switch between them instantly.
What Can Windows Themes Change?
Currently, Windows themes can change:
Desktop background
Accent color
System sounds
Mouse cursor (supported, but rarely used)
Most themes focus on wallpapers and colors, but future themes may include better cursor designs.
Theme Categories Available
The Themes section includes many categories, such as:
New Releases
Top Themes
Technology & Gaming
Abstract Art
Nature & Wildlife
Space and Fun Designs and more...
This makes it easy to find themes that match your taste.
Live Wallpapers Coming to Windows 11
Microsoft is testing live wallpapers in Windows 11 preview builds. This upcoming feature will allow animated video wallpapers, similar to the old Windows DreamScene.
Once released, we may see:

The new Microsoft Store Themes section is a smart move toward better Windows customization. While current themes focus on wallpapers and colors, upcoming features like live wallpapers could make personalization much more powerful.
