macOS-Style Dock Animation for Windows 11 Using Windhawk

If you like the smooth dock animation from macOS, you can now get a similar effect on Windows 11 using a free and open-source tool called Windhawk.

What Is Windhawk?

Windhawk is a Windows customization tool that lets you install small add-ons called mods. These mods allow you to change the taskbar, Start menu, right-click menu, and more.

Taskbar Dock Animation Mod

The Taskbar Dock Animation mod adds a macOS-style hover animation to Windows 11 taskbar icons.

Key Features

• Icons smoothly grow when you hover over them

• Looks similar to the macOS Dock

Experimental Status

This mod is still experimental, so a few issues exist:

• Icons may appear slightly blurry

• Minor clipping when icons scale up

These issues are mostly visual and don’t affect normal use.

Optional Workaround

Using another Windhawk mod called Taskbar Height and Icon Size, you can reduce blurriness by increasing taskbar height. This is a temporary fix and may make the taskbar larger than usual.

If you enjoy customizing Windows 11, this mod is fun, lightweight, and easy to remove if you don’t like it.
