Samsung Internet is Now on Windows PC: A Clean, Multitasking Powerhouse

If you are an Android user, especially a Samsung user, you are likely familiar with Samsung Internet. It’s the default browser on Samsung phones.

But here is the big news: Samsung Internet is now available for Windows PC.

You might be thinking, "It's just another browser, what's the big deal?" Surprisingly, the PC version is shaping up to be a unique, clean, and genuinely useful tool.

Here is everything you need to know about this new browser.

1. Clean, Fast, and Familiar

The technical foundation of Samsung Internet for Windows is Chromium. This is the same engine that powers Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

  • It feels fast: Because it's Chromium-based, it has the speed and compatibility you expect.

  • No Bloat: Unlike many modern browsers that come packed with too many unnecessary features, this browser is refreshingly minimal and clean.

2. Next-Level Multitasking

The standout feature of this browser is how it handles multitasking. It borrows a "mobile-like" browsing experience to make your life easier.

  • Sidebar Access: You can keep your favorite apps like Instagram, TikTok, or ChatGPT in a sidebar. Instead of opening a whole new tab or app, they slide out for quick access.

  • Split View: This is a game-changer. You can have up to three different spaces active at once. Imagine watching a YouTube video in one space, searching Google in another, and checking Instagram in the sidebar—all on one screen.

3. Sync Your Life (Optional)

If you do use Samsung Internet on your phone, the integration is seamless. By signing into your Samsung account, you can sync your:

  • Web browsing history

  • Bookmarks

However, signing in is completely optional. You can use the browser and its features without ever logging into a Samsung account, which is great for privacy-conscious users.

4. Customization

Make the browser your own with simple but effective customization options:

  • Widgets: Add useful widgets like a Clock or Weather directly to your homepage.

  • Custom Wallpapers: Swap out the default background for any image you like to personalize your new tab page.

Availability

Currently, Samsung Internet for Windows is in Beta.

  • Where: It is currently available to users in South Korea and the United States.

  • How to get it: If you live in these regions, you can head to the official website to join the beta program and test it out. https://browser.samsung.com/beta
