Microsoft Edge Mobile Just Got Better – Extensions Are Here!
Microsoft has introduced a highly anticipated feature for Edge on mobile devices: support for browser extensions. Previously available only on desktop, extensions are now accessible in the latest version of Microsoft Edge for Android.
How to Install Extensions on Microsoft Edge (Android)
Installing extensions in Edge on Android is simple:
- Open the Edge browser and tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner.
- Select "Extensions."
- Browse the available extensions and tap "Get" to install.
- Confirm by tapping "Add."
Once installed, users can manage their extensions, enable or disable them, and adjust their settings as needed.
Available Extensions
Currently, Edge's mobile extension store offers 22 extensions, including popular tools like Dark Reader, Bitwarden, Tampermonkey, NordVPN, and Keepa. Microsoft plans to expand the selection in future updates.
A Competitive Advantage
With this update, Microsoft Edge becomes one of the few mobile browsers to support extensions, giving it an edge over competitors like Google Chrome, which does not yet offer this feature on mobile.
While the feature is still in beta, its introduction marks a significant step in enhancing the mobile browsing experience. Users can now enjoy added functionality and customization similar to what they experience on desktop.
