This new tool aims to simplify the process of transferring data from an old PC to a new one.
The Migration app is expected to be integrated into the existing Windows Backup system, offering a streamlined solution for moving files, settings, and preferences between devices. One of its key features will be wireless data transfer, allowing users to migrate their data over a local network instead of relying solely on cloud-based backups or external storage devices.
According to reports, the tool will guide users through the transfer process using a one-time pairing code, ensuring both PCs are on the same Wi-Fi network. This method is expected to make setting up a new device more convenient and faster compared to traditional data migration options.
Although the feature is still in development and not yet available for public testing, its inclusion in recent preview builds suggests Microsoft is actively working on improving the PC setup experience. The Migration app could be a valuable addition for users upgrading their computers, making the transition smoother and more efficient.
