Scrcpy GUI – A Simple Way to Mirror Your Android Phone on Windows

Scrcpy GUI is a free and open‑source Windows application that makes it easy to use scrcpy, a popular Android screen‑mirroring tool. Instead of typing commands in Command Prompt, you get a clean and simple graphical interface where everything can be controlled with a few clicks.

This project was created to solve a common problem: many existing scrcpy GUIs are no longer actively maintained and do not support the latest scrcpy features. Scrcpy GUI focuses on keeping things updated and easy to use.

What is Scrcpy GUI?

Scrcpy GUI is a desktop app that lets you mirror and control your Android phone directly from your Windows PC. It works as a front‑end for scrcpy, meaning scrcpy does the actual work while this app provides an easy interface on top of it.

Once connected, you can control your phone using your mouse and keyboard, view your phone screen in real time, and even use advanced features like desktop mode.

Key Features

Here are some of the main features that make Scrcpy GUI useful:

  • Easy device detection – Connect your phone via USB, click Refresh, and it will be detected automatically

  • Automatic scrcpy detection – Finds scrcpy on your system or lets you download the latest version from the official GitHub page

  • Resolution control – Choose between 480p, 720p, 1080p, or original resolution

  • Frame rate and bitrate options – Adjust FPS (up to high values) and video quality

  • Screen rotation support – Rotate your phone screen while mirroring

  • Desktop mode – Use Android’s built‑in desktop mode (supported on newer Android versions)

  • System audio control – Enable or disable system audio

  • Keyboard shortcuts – For example, use Alt + F to enter or exit fullscreen mode

  • APK drag and drop – Install APK files by dragging them into the window

  • Multiple device support – Select a specific phone if more than one device is connected

How It Works

To use Scrcpy GUI, you need to:

  1. Enable Developer Options on your Android phone

  2. Turn on USB Debugging

  3. Connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable

  4. Open Scrcpy GUI and click Refresh

Once your device is detected, choose your preferred resolution, FPS, and other options, then click Launch Mirroring. Your phone screen will appear instantly on your PC.

Desktop Mode Explained

One of the standout features is Desktop Mode. When enabled, your Android phone launches in a desktop‑style interface, allowing you to use it more like a PC. This is especially useful for productivity tasks, presentations, or testing apps on a larger screen.

Open Source and Future Plans

Scrcpy GUI is fully open source. The source code is available on GitHub, and users are free to fork the project, suggest features, or report bugs.

This is the first release of the app, and more improvements are planned. The goal is to keep the GUI updated with the latest scrcpy features and make Android screen mirroring on Windows as simple as possible.

For beginners and advanced users alike, this tool makes Android screen mirroring on Windows faster, easier, and more accessible.
