You Can Now Remove Bloatware in Windows 11 25H2!

Did you know that the upcoming Windows 11 25H2 update might have a hidden gem for those who like a cleaner system? It seems Microsoft is adding a built-in "debloater" feature, allowing you to uninstall system apps without needing any third-party tools!

What's This Debloater All About?

This isn't a new application you download; it's a hidden feature accessible through the Group Policy Editor. Windows 11 25H2 is expected to roll out later this year, likely around October or November, and while it's a small update overall, this debloater is definitely an interesting addition.

How Does It Work?

To find this feature, you'll need to:

  1. Search for "Group Policy" and open "Edit Group Policy."

  2. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App package deployment.

  3. Look for the option: "Remove default Microsoft Store packages from the system."

By default, this option is disabled. You'll need to enable it and then select the apps you wish to remove.

Important Catch!

Here's the crucial part: This debloater only works when you create a new user profile. It won't affect apps on your existing user account. So, if you're setting up a new PC or a new user on your current system, this feature could be very handy for a fresh, streamlined experience.

While you can already uninstall most apps from Windows without extra tools, this built-in option offers a more integrated way to control which default apps are present for new users.
