Windows 11’s Start Menu is Getting a Massive Upgrade!

Good news, Windows 11 fans! Microsoft is rolling out some exciting changes to the Start menu, and it's finally available in the Dev Channel for Windows Insiders. If you've been wanting a more streamlined and spacious Start experience, you're in for a treat!

What's New and Improved?

The first thing you'll notice about the new Start menu is its size. It's bigger and better, designed to give you a more expansive view of your apps and recommendations.

Here's a quick rundown of the key improvements:

  • All Your Apps in One Place: Unlike the current Start menu where you have to click "All apps," the new design brings all your applications, including your pinned ones, directly into the main view. This means less clicking and faster access to what you need.

  • Say Goodbye to Recommended (If You Want!): One of the most requested features is here! You can now completely disable the "Recommended" section, giving you more control over what appears on your Start menu. If you prefer a clean look without suggested files or apps, this is a game-changer.

  • Organized and Easy to Find: By default, apps are listed by category, making it super easy to find what you're looking for. While you can also switch to a grid or list view, the category view seems to be a popular choice for its intuitive organization.

  • Integrated "Your Phone" App: For those who frequently use the "Your Phone" app to connect their devices, you'll be happy to know it's now integrated directly into the Start menu. A small icon will appear once your phone is connected, providing quick access to its features.

Want to Try It Out Now?

If you're eager to get your hands on this new Start menu, you'll need to be on the Windows Insider Dev Channel with OS Build 26200.5641 or newer. Even then, it might be hidden for some users, but there are ways to enable it using tools like ViveTool (you can find guides online if you're comfortable with advanced steps).
