All Your Windows Apps Will Update in One Place Soon!

Microsoft is creating one unified system to handle all app updates on Windows — not just for Windows itself, but also for apps, drivers, and more.

💡 What Does That Mean?

Right now, different apps update themselves in different ways — some pop up their own messages, some use third-party tools, and some don’t update at all unless you do it manually.

Microsoft wants to change that. With this new system:

All apps (even third-party ones) can update using Windows Update, the same tool that updates your system.

You won’t need separate updaters for each app anymore.

✅ What Are the Benefits?

Less annoying pop-ups from apps asking to update.

Updates happen at smart times, so they don’t interrupt your work. (hope so 😅, we need more control over Windows updates)

IT admins get more control over when and how apps update.

One place to see all your updates — right in the Windows Settings.

Easier to fix problems with updates if they happen.

🧑‍💻 Who Can Use It?

Developers can start using this new update system now (in a preview phase).

Regular users don’t need to do anything — if app makers join this system, updates will just happen automatically through Windows Update.

🚀 In Short:

Microsoft is making Windows Update smarter and more powerful so it can update everything — not just Windows, but also your apps — all in one place. Less hassle, more control.
