AI-Generated Videos with Google’s VEO 3 Are Shockingly Realistic
Lately, AI-generated videos have been taking over social media — and many of them are so convincing, you might not even realize they’re fake. If you’ve watched one recently and couldn’t tell whether it was real or AI-made, you’re not alone. The quality has gotten that good.
In this post, I’ll walk you through my experience testing Google’s latest AI video generation model, VEO 3 — and why it might be the most powerful tool of its kind right now.
Creating Lifelike Characters with Just a Prompt
To start off, I created a simple video of a virtual girl introducing herself. A typo in my prompt resulted in her calling herself an “AI garnered girl” instead of “generated” — but aside from the name glitch, the results were stunning.
She blinked, moved naturally, smiled, and spoke with a tone that matched her expressions. It felt weirdly real — even I had to play it twice to believe it was AI-generated.
Gaming Videos Made by AI? Yup.
Then I tested gaming-related prompts — for example:
“Generate a video of Minecraft gameplay with a man’s face cam on top, talking about the game.”
The result? A full video of a virtual gamer talking while playing Minecraft. His expressions, tone, and body language felt authentic.
Next up, I generated a man playing Clash Royale. The commentary synced well with the video, and it even looked like he had a gaming setup in the background. It was honestly hard to believe the entire thing was made from a text prompt.
