Beyond Generation: Google Gemini Edits Images Too
Google Gemini is stepping up its game! Not only can it generate images, but it can also edit them. While this feature isn't directly available in the main Google Gemini app just yet, it's currently being tested as an experimental feature.
How to Try It Out
If you're eager to get a sneak peek, head over to aistudio.google.com. Once there, create a prompt, navigate to "model," and select "Gemini 2.0 Flash image generation (experimental feature)."
What Can You Do?
The possibilities are vast. With Google Gemini, you can:
Edit images
Generate stories with images
Design custom cards
Image Editing in Action
Let's dive into the image editing capabilities. You can upload one or multiple images and then use prompts to modify them. For example, you can combine two separate images of different people into a single image with a specific scenario, like holding hands and walking down the street or drinking coconut water together on a beach.
The results, while still in experimental phase, are impressive. You can even change the background of a generated image, add or remove elements like flowers, and more. For instance, you could ask Gemini to transform a daytime photo into a nighttime scene, or add a playful puppy to a portrait – and it handles these requests with surprising accuracy.
Beyond Image Editing
Google Gemini's capabilities extend beyond simple image manipulation. It can also generate entire stories with consistent characters, which can be a game-changer for content creators looking to produce storytelling videos or movies.
I have also made a video in this topic so watch the video down below to see it in action.
