Windows 10 End of Life: What Are Your Best Options?

 Windows 10 End of Life

Windows 10 will reach its end of life (EOL) on October 14, 2025.

What does this mean?

No more security updates: After this date, Microsoft will stop releasing security updates for Windows 10. This means your computer will be more vulnerable to viruses, malware, and other security threats.

No more technical support: Microsoft will also stop providing technical support for Windows 10. If you have any problems with your computer, you'll be on your own.

What should you do?

Use Windows 10 LTSC: Windows 10 LTSC" stands for "Windows 10 Long-Term Servicing Channel," which refers to a specialized edition of Windows 10 designed for devices that need consistent features and stability over a long period. You can use this edition of Windows 10 for 2029 to 2032.

Upgrade to Windows 11: The best way to protect yourself is to upgrade to Windows 11. Windows 11 is the latest version of Windows and it includes the latest security features.

Switch to Linux OS : It's free and open source OS, There are many choices but make sure you have time to learn this OS. ( Watch the video down below for my opinion on Linux OS)

Switch to to Chrome OS: Chrome OS Flex is a version of Google’s Chrome OS designed to run on a wider variety of hardware, including older PCs and Macs. It is a lightweight, fast, and secure operating system built for internet-based computing, primarily using web apps and cloud services.

Or FydeOS

FydeOS is built upon Chromium OS, the open-source version of Chrome OS. It retains the speed, simplicity, and security that Chromium OS offers while adding its own unique features. And it supports Android and Linux Apps.

Consider Extended Security Updates (ESU): If you can't upgrade to Windows 11, you may be able to purchase Extended Security Updates (ESU) from Microsoft. ESU will provide you with security updates for Windows 10 for an additional fee.
