What Happens When You Uninstall Edge?

If you successfully uninstall Microsoft Edge from your Windows 11 device, you'll primarily lose access to its web browsing capabilities. This includes features like:

Web browsing: You'll need to use a different browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Opera to access websites. (So download the browser of your choice before uninstalling Edge 😅).

Edge-specific features: Any features or extensions that are exclusive to Edge will no longer be available. (For me I use nothing related to Edge)

Microsoft integration: Certain Microsoft services and integrations that rely on Edge may be affected.

However, the core functionality of Windows 11 should remain unaffected.

Why Some EU Countries Can Uninstall Edge and Others Can't

The ability to uninstall Edge in Windows 11 is primarily linked to the Digital Markets Act (DMA), a set of EU regulations aimed at promoting fair competition and consumer choice in digital markets.  The DMA mandates that certain core platform services, including web browsers, must be uninstallable on devices sold in the EU. : To comply with the DMA, Microsoft has made Edge uninstallable for users in the EEA. However, in other regions, this option may be restricted or not available.

It's like a optional feature if you like it you keep it, if you don't you delete it 😅.
