How to Disable Recall on Windows 11 24H2 – Quick & Easy Guide..

For some reason, it seems that the Recall feature is enabled by default on Windows 11 24H2 for non-ARM PCs (Copilot+ PCs). Recall is supposed to be an exclusive feature for Copilot+ PCs.

These are the System Requirements for Recall:

A Copilot+ PC (ARM-based)

16 GB RAM

8 logical processors

256 GB storage capacity

At least 50 GB of free storage space to enable Recall

Interestingly, there is no mention of x86 PCs in relation to the Recall feature, yet it appears to be enabled by default on Windows 11 24H2. While the functionality might be limited, it’s still present. Additionally, there are concerns that Recall could be a dependency for File Explorer, which might complicate its removal.

If you're concerned about Recall or want to disable it, you can do so using the following command in the Command Prompt or PowerShell:

To check the state run:

Dism /Online /Get-Featureinfo /Featurename:Recall

If you want to disable it run:

Dism /Online /Disable-Feature /Featurename:Recall

If you want to enable it run:

Dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:Recall

Make sure to run Command Prompt or PowerShell as administrator.
