 Is Steam Game Recording the best free game recorder? in my opinion yes

Steam now offers a built-in game recording feature, making it easy to capture and share your amazing gameplay moments.

Features:

Automatic Recording: Records gameplay in the background, so you never miss a highlight.

Manual Recording: Start and stop recording manually with a hotkey.

Mark Important Moments: Use the hotkey for marking clips (default is Ctrl+F12). This helps you easily locate specific parts of your recording later.

Clip Creation: Easily create clips from your recordings.

Audio Options: Choose between game audio only or all system audio.

Yeah in my opinion this is the best option to record your gameplays...

Extra note: as of now this feature is only available in Steam beta update, so if you don't see a game recording option in Steam settings then you have to enable this feature by getting the Steam beta update.

Here's how to get Steam beta update:

1. Launch the Steam

2. Click on "Steam" in the top left corner, then select "Settings."

3. Go to the "Interface" tab. Under "Client Beta Participation," you'll find a dropdown menu.

4. Choose "Steam Beta Update" from the dropdown options. You'll be prompted to restart Steam. Once it restarts, you'll be on the Steam Beta.
