Best open source free Antivirus for Windows, macOS and Linux

 ClamAV a free and open source Antivirus 

ClamWin Free Antivirus is a free and open-source antivirus tool for Windows. It provides a graphical user interface to the Clam AntiVirus engine and Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) is also free and open source Antivirus engine, it is available for Windows PC, macOS and Linux. ClamAV doesn't have graphical user interface so you will have to use a terminal to use it. But if you are a Windows user you can just get a ClamWin, it provides a graphical user interface and makes it easy to use. If you are a Mac or Linux user then sadly there is no GUI app for it.

ClamAV is actually the one and only open source Antivirus and it is lightweight and fast, the only feature it doesn't have is real time protection.

My opinion : I'm a Windows user and I use Windows Security (Windows defender) as my antivirus for my PC, It's free and works really well. I don't use third party Antivirus software's because they often use lots of PC resources. About the ClamAV I definitely don't need this but hey there is a open source free antivirus that you can use if you need one.
