As you know Microsoft Windows operating system is proprietary software but there is a OS called ReactOS which is based on Windows OS and is open source.
ReactOS is a free and open-source operating system for amd64/i686 personal computers intended to be binary-compatible with computer programs and device drivers made for Windows Server 2003 and later versions of Windows.
As of now this operating system only supports 32bit (x86) so you can't install this only modern computers and you can't use 64bit programs. If in the future this always gets a 64bit (x64) support then this might become the true Microsoft Windows OS alternative.

Important note: as of now reactor this does not support all computers it can be only installed on a very old computers which can run Windows XP. If there are any updates I will also update this post.
